Enclosed please find the consignment packet for the GREAT LAKES HAFLINGER ASSOCIATION 22ND ANNUAL REGISTERED HAFLINGER SALE to be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008, in conjunction with our 11th Annual Registered Haflinger Show and 16th Annual Futurity – GREAT LAKES HAFLINGERFEST 2008. It contains a consignment form for horses, instructions for your veterinarian on what is required for the sale horses, and a consignment form for rolling stock and tack. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CONSIGNMENT DEADLINE IS AUGUST 1, 2008. This will allow us to have our catalogs in the mail earlier to prospective buyers. The sale catalog will also be posted on our website, www.glhahaflinger.org.

We will allow consignors to no-sale their horse. If a horse is not sold, the consignor will pay the 6% commission on the last bid received and there will be no refund of the consignment fee. There is a $50.00 minimum commission on no-sale horses. In order to no-sale a horse, the consignor or his/her representative must be at the auction stand when the horse is in the sale ring and inform the auctioneer immediately after the last bid and before the gavel drops, if the horse is not being sold. The auctioneer will announce that the horse has not been sold so there is no confusion among the bidders. If the consignor does not follow this procedure, the horse will be considered sold to the last bidder.

The Tack Sale will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. Articles that are consigned by August 1, 2008, will be listed in the catalog at no cost. If you wish to have a picture in the catalog of your consignment article, there is a $25.00 charge. The Preview of the Stallion Service Auction and Sale Horses will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2008. Stallions in the Service Auction will be shown at liberty.

Again this year, if we receive your consignment by July 15, 2008, your horse’s picture or your business card will be placed in the catalog free.

This GREAT LAKES HAFLINGERFEST 2008 weekend is not to be missed. Thursday, October 9 and Friday October 10 will be full of Haflingers showing their stuff during the Show and Futurity. Saturday brings everyone together for a great auction of tack and rolling stock, followed by the Stallion Service Auction and quality Haflingers for sale. Plan on joining us for a great Haflinger weekend.
